Magadan hosts free anti-drug documentary for teens on April 7, 2026

A free documentary screening will take place in Magadan on April 7, 2026, aimed at educating young people about the dangers of drug abuse. Through the Looking Glass will be shown at the Gornyak cinema at 2:00 PM, with organisers urging only those aged 16 and above to attend. The event is a joint effort between the Russian Interior Ministry's regional branch and the Magadan Mayor's Office Culture Department. Their goal is to discourage teenagers and young adults from getting involved in illegal drug trafficking. The film also promotes a critical view of substance abuse while encouraging healthier lifestyle choices.

High school students have been specifically invited to attend. Although no similar initiatives by the ministry's drug control directorate have been reported in other Russian regions over the past two years, this screening marks a local effort to address the issue.

The documentary carries a 16+ age recommendation due to its sensitive content. By hosting this event, authorities hope to raise awareness among young audiences about the risks of drug-related activities. The screening remains open to all eligible attendees at no cost.
