Rural Healthcare Overhaul Brings 59 New Clinics and Cutting-Edge Tech

The region has made significant progress in upgrading its healthcare system. Several new medical facilities are set to open this year, alongside major improvements in infrastructure and staffing. Under the Modernization of Rural Healthcare project, 59 medical institutions have been built and 13 have undergone major renovations. This year, a new polyclinic with a capacity of 500 patient visits per shift will open in the regional capital. Newly reconstructed central district hospitals in Panfilov, Kerbulak, and Aksu districts, as well as the regional children’s hospital in Taldykorgan, will also begin operations soon.

The region has also acquired 29 new ambulances and 165 units of advanced medical equipment in the past year. Currently, 63.8% of the region’s medical infrastructure has been updated, with most improvements occurring in rural areas. Additionally, 93% of healthcare facilities’ equipment has been modernised.

Staffing has seen a boost as well. 153 young specialists have been attracted to the region through relocation bonuses and service housing over 2024–2025. Furthermore, 43 newly qualified residents will join hospital staff after receiving residency training grants. Regional doctors also regularly undergo advanced training at leading clinics in Turkey, Germany, and Russia. Since its establishment, the region has commissioned 149 new healthcare facilities. The latest upgrades and expansions are expected to improve access to medical services for local residents. The focus remains on enhancing both urban and rural healthcare provision.
