Omsk hospital faces 12M ruble debt crisis amid legal battles

Tukalinsk Central District Hospital in Omsk Oblast is facing significant financial and legal challenges. Enforcement proceedings were launched against the institution on 22 June 2026, with a claim exceeding 12.07 million rubles. The debt stems from a tax linked to the negative balance of the Unified Tax Account. The hospital’s troubles began earlier. In October 2025, legal action was announced against its predecessor, accused of abuse of office with alleged damages of around 800,000 rubles. Margarita Berezina took over as chief physician in May 2025, but the facility continued to face financial strain.

Between 2025 and 2026, the hospital appeared in multiple enforcement cases, each involving sums under 100,000 rubles. By June 2026, five new lawsuits totalling over 2.26 million rubles were filed in the Omsk Oblast Arbitration Court. The creditor in the latest proceedings is the Interdistrict Tax Inspectorate No. 1 for Omsk Oblast. The hospital now owes more than 12.07 million rubles to the tax authority. The ongoing cases and past enforcement actions highlight its persistent financial difficulties. The debt remains tied to the negative balance of its Unified Tax Account.
