A 38-year-old man from Sochi was injured while descending the Agura Waterfalls. He fell and hurt his leg and back after slipping on rocks. His companion also landed on top of him during the fall. The incident occurred as the man attempted to jump from rock to rock near the lower Agura Waterfall. Rescuers located the pair and carried the injured hiker on a stretcher to Kavkazsky Aul. This marks the ninth rescue operation in Agura Gorge this year alone.
Authorities advise hikers to prepare thoroughly before heading out. They recommend bringing a fully charged phone, power bank, proper footwear, warm clothing, a small first-aid kit, and snacks. Studying trails, downloading offline maps, and checking elevation changes are also strongly encouraged. In emergencies, the public is urged to call 112 or +7 (862) 268-03-03 for assistance. The injured man is now receiving medical attention after the rescue. The incident highlights the importance of caution and preparation in mountainous areas.
