Wolfgang Müller Honored for Decades of Community Service and Emergency Leadership
Wolfgang Müller has received the Golden Honorary Pin for his decades of service to the community. The award, presented by Bergisch Gladbach’s mayor, recognises his long-standing dedication to emergency response and social initiatives. His work spans local training programmes, disaster relief, and support for vulnerable groups. Müller has been a key figure in the Malteser Hilfsdienst e.V. for many years. Since 1985, he has led emergency units, ensuring the safety of both response teams and local residents. His role extends beyond crises—he also manages the Federal Volunteer Service in Bergisch Gladbach, mentoring new recruits through their training.
Beyond emergency work, Müller runs first aid courses across the Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis. His efforts include tailored sessions for children in kindergartens and specialised programmes for people with disabilities, particularly during the Malteser’s summer campaigns. His humanitarian work has also taken him abroad, where he has contributed to disaster relief operations. Mayor Marcel Kreutz presented the Golden Honorary Pin in a ceremony honouring Müller’s contributions. The city highlighted his commitment to education, emergency preparedness, and inclusive community support.
The Golden Honorary Pin formalises Bergisch Gladbach’s recognition of Müller’s impact. His training programmes, leadership in emergencies, and advocacy for accessibility continue to shape local services. The award reflects both his professional expertise and his personal investment in helping others.
