One-Handed Teen Entrepreneur Brings Sweet Resilience to London Gala

A 12-year-old entrepreneur from Shipley will run a candyfloss stall at the North London Youth Gala this Sunday. Hashir Yahya Aziz began making candyfloss one-handed while recovering from a car crash in May 2023. The event will also include performances by Muslim Belal and B-Shaf. Hashir Aziz started his candyfloss business after the accident left him unable to take part in some sports. Since then, he has worked at 20 events, donating his services and ingredients for free at charity gatherings. His upcoming appearance at the gala will see him give a speech about his experience and staying positive after the crash.

At the Edmonton Mosque event, he plans to hand out free candyfloss to more than 300 attendees. Despite ongoing medical challenges, including planned surgeries on his left thumb, he continues to grow his small business. Hashir Aziz remains committed to his work and community contributions. His speech at the gala will share his journey of resilience. More surgeries are scheduled for this year as he balances recovery with his candyfloss enterprise.
