Uttar Pradesh To Set Up 5 New Integrated AYUSH Colleges & Hospitals Across Key Divisions

Uttar Pradesh launches five new AYUSH colleges to blend tradition and modern medicine

The Uttar Pradesh government is setting up five new Integrated AYUSH Colleges and Hospitals across the state. These institutions will focus on traditional medicine while also incorporating modern health sciences. Officials say the move will improve healthcare access and reduce the need for students to relocate for medical training. Land for the new colleges has already been identified in Gonda, Mirzapur, Ghaziabad, Agra, and Basti. The transfer of land in four divisions is complete, with the process in Basti nearly finished. Once operational, the institutions will serve Devipatan, Mirzapur, Meerut, Agra, and Basti divisions.

The colleges will specialise in Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy, alongside modern medical education. They are designed to function as centres of excellence, blending education, research, and innovation in traditional medicine. Research will cover Ayurvedic treatments, yoga therapy, and lifestyle-based healthcare solutions. The project aims to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in rural and remote areas. By providing local training opportunities, it seeks to create a skilled workforce for AYUSH-based services. This is expected to reduce the reliance on urban medical institutions for education and treatment.

The new AYUSH colleges will expand medical education and research in traditional systems. They are set to improve healthcare access while fostering scientific advancements in Ayurveda and related fields. The initiative aligns with broader efforts to integrate traditional and modern medicine in Uttar Pradesh.
