Woman Rescued After Falling Ill at 3,200 Metres in Kazakhstan Ski Resort

A 22-year-old woman fell ill at an elevation of 3,200 metres near the Kombi-2 area of Shymbulak ski resort in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Emergency services were quickly alerted to the situation. The incident prompted a response from Kazakhstan’s Emergency Situations Ministry (MChS). A rapid response team and medical unit were sent to the location. The woman was evacuated to the Shymbulak resort parking area for further assessment.

The MChS operates the highest-altitude universal rescue unit in the CIS at Shymbulak, based at 2,260 metres above sea level. After evacuation, the woman’s condition stabilised, and she chose not to receive hospital treatment. The rescue operation was carried out efficiently by the MChS team. The woman recovered after descending and did not require further medical intervention. The incident highlights the readiness of high-altitude rescue services at the resort.
