Free cooking demos in February teach heart-healthy meals to fight hypertension

The North Regional Health and Wellness Center will host a series of free cooking demonstrations in February 2024. These sessions aim to teach heart-healthy meals that help reduce hypertension. Anyone interested in attending must register in advance to secure a place. The first event, Meal Prep 101, takes place on Thursday, February 8, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Participants will learn simple techniques for preparing balanced meals in advance.

On Tuesday, February 13, a Cooking for Kids demo runs from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Children under eight must be accompanied by an adult during this session.

The final workshop, a Hands-On Cooking demo, is scheduled for Thursday, February 29, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Attendees at all three events will receive free food samples, recipe cards, and educational materials to take home. The demos offer practical skills for healthier eating while focusing on hypertension prevention. Free resources and tastings will be provided to all registered participants. Spaces are limited, so early sign-up is encouraged.
