Mexico City's INAPAM cultural centres empower seniors with free activities

Mexico’s National Institute for Older Adults (INAPAM) provides access to cultural centres for seniors across Mexico City. These facilities aim to promote active participation and healthy ageing among older adults through a range of activities. Four centres are currently available, each offering a variety of programmes. INAPAM runs four cultural centres in the capital, all open Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The Alhambra Cultural Center is at 1113 Alhambra Street in Portales. The Aragón Cultural Center is at 224 Aragón Street in Álamos, while the San Francisco Cultural Center is at 1809 San Francisco Street in Del Valle. The Cuauhtémoc Cultural Center is located at 956 Cuauhtémoc Street in Narvarte.

Seniors must visit their chosen centre in person to enrol during quarterly periods in December, March, June, and September. Registration requires proof of age, a valid ID, an INAPAM card, CURP, two photographs, a medical certificate, a completed form, a signed privacy notice, and payment of a recovery fee. The centres provide educational, physical, cultural, recreational, and skill-building activities. Enrolment is limited to specific times of the year. Seniors must prepare the required documents before visiting their preferred location. The centres are designed to support the well-being and engagement of older adults in the community.
