The Russian government has allocated over 1.7 billion rubles to provide free medications and medical supplies for eligible groups. Sverdlovsk Oblast will receive a significant share of the funds, ranking third among all regions. Governor Denis Pasler has also supported measures to protect housing benefits for medical staff during hospital restructuring. The federal programme will cover disabled individuals, Chernobyl survivors, combat veterans, and other beneficiaries. A total of 1.7 billion rubles ($18.5 million) will fund free medications, medical supplies, and therapeutic nutrition. Each patient’s needs will be assessed by their treating physician.

Sverdlovsk Oblast has secured over 50 million rubles for this initiative, placing it among the top recipients. The region already leads in pharmaceutical funding, with 10.5 billion rubles set aside for 2026. Governor Pasler has additionally endorsed efforts to maintain housing allowances for medical workers amid ongoing hospital reforms. The funds will ensure access to essential treatments for vulnerable groups. Sverdlovsk Oblast’s high allocation reflects its commitment to healthcare support. The measures aim to stabilise benefits for both patients and medical personnel.
