Krasnodar Offers Free First Aid Workshops to Save Lives in Emergencies
The Krasnodar Territorial Disaster Medicine Center is running free first aid workshops for residents aged 14 and above. The sessions aim to teach life-saving skills for emergencies before professional help arrives. The workshops cover first aid for unconscious victims, breathing difficulties, heart attacks, choking, severe bleeding, and traumatic injuries. They use modern equipment, including training mannequins, to ensure hands-on practice.
Applications are open to both individuals and organisations. The current programme is part of a nationwide themed week focused on reducing deaths from external causes.
Since 2007, the centre has trained over 110,000 participants. Meanwhile, the Krasnodar Region Health Ministry has deployed mobile units, such as a blood donation centre and a mobile dispensary, to support the initiative across the area. The workshops prepare residents to respond in accidents, injuries, poisonings, and other critical situations. Over 110,000 people have already benefited from the training since its launch. Mobile health units are also in place to assist the effort.
