Historic Russian Spa Reopens After Seven Years of Extensive Reconstruction
The Talaya Multidisciplinary Balneotherapy and Mud Spa has reopened in Russia’s Magadan Region after seven years of extensive reconstruction. The resort, first established in 1940 as Goryachiye Klyuchi, is known for its silica-rich thermal waters, medicinal mud, and distinctive climate. Work on the comprehensive overhaul began in 2019. The project included building new residential blocks, modernising infrastructure, and upgrading technical equipment. The resort can now host 364 guests at once across four buildings, one of which is reserved for children.
New facilities have been added to the grounds. These include a restaurant, an open-air concert stage, and an indoor skating rink. A cutting-edge medical and wellness complex has also been introduced. The resort’s cultural centre features a 50-seat conference hall and a disco hall that can function as a cinema.
Guests can enjoy two mineral hydrotherapy pools, a 25-metre swimming pool, and other amenities designed to enhance their stay. The resort has completed its transformation with modernised buildings and expanded facilities. Its thermal waters, medicinal mud, and unique climate remain central to its appeal. The reopening marks the end of a major reconstruction effort that lasted seven years.
