Official figures from Omsk Oblast reveal a shift in poisoning trends during 2025. Narcotic substances became the most common cause, overtaking alcohol and pharmaceutical drugs. The latest data also shows a notable drop in alcohol-related cases compared to the previous year. In 2025, narcotic substances caused 35.1% of all poisonings in Omsk Oblast, making them the leading factor. Alcohol followed as the second most frequent cause, accounting for 26% of cases. Pharmaceutical drugs ranked third, responsible for 24% of incidents.

The share of drug-related poisonings fell by 6.3% from 2024 to 2025. Meanwhile, alcohol-related poisonings saw a sharper decline, dropping by 23.3% over the same period. Adults made up 89% of those affected by alcohol or surrogate alcohol poisoning.

Geographically, 81% of all recorded poisonings occurred in the city of Omsk, while rural districts accounted for the remaining 19%.
