Navi Mumbai's healthcare gets a major boost with new medical facilities

Several new medical facilities have been officially opened in Navi Mumbai. These include an MRI centre, a milk bank, and a modular mortuary at Vashi Public Hospital. The inaugurations aim to improve healthcare services in the region. Ganesh Naik, Maharashtra Forest Minister, led the inauguration of the advanced medical facilities. At Vashi Public Hospital, a new MRI centre was launched, featuring a 3 Tesla Siemens Healthcare machine for disease diagnosis. The centre offers affordable scan rates, ranging from Rs. 1,775 to Rs. 2,715.

A Human Milk Bank was also established to aid premature and critically ill newborns. Additionally, a Central Sterile Services Department was opened to reduce infection risks and enhance patient safety. A Hospital Bed Availability Dashboard now provides real-time updates on bed availability across Navi Mumbai hospitals.

Other new facilities include a veterinary hospital in Juinagar and an Urban Primary Health Centre in Mahape. Advanced Cath Labs were launched at Vashi and Airoli hospitals to boost neurovascular and cardiac care. A dialysis centre at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Bhavan in CBD Belapur was inaugurated virtually as well. The new facilities are expected to strengthen healthcare access and quality in Navi Mumbai. Residents will benefit from improved diagnostics, specialised care, and real-time hospital information. The additions mark a significant expansion of medical services in the area.
