Astana's Workout City launches free street fitness for all this summer

A new initiative called Workout City is set to launch in Astana to promote grassroots sports. The project aims to encourage regular physical activity, build a street fitness culture among young people, and make mass sports more accessible to the public. The Workout City project will officially begin with a grand opening ceremony on June 21 at 4:00 PM in Astana's Central Park. Free open-air Street Workout training sessions will then run from June 22 to September 22, 2026.

Sessions will take place at two locations in the city. At Central Park, training will be held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM. At the Botanical Garden, sessions are scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during the same evening hours. The workouts are open to everyone, regardless of age or fitness level, with no participation fee. The initiative seeks to engage locals in regular exercise and foster a community around street fitness.
