Alpro Health Launches RM99 CarePass for Affordable Preventive Care in Malaysia

Alpro Health has launched CarePass, an annual healthcare pass priced at RM99. The initiative aims to make preventive care more affordable and accessible across Malaysia. It provides users with services worth over RM600 at Alpro Pharmacy outlets nationwide. The pass covers a range of preventive healthcare services. These include blood screening, flu vaccination, eye and hearing tests, physiotherapy, online doctor consultations, and personal accident protection. CarePass is supported by Alpro Group’s integrated healthcare network.

Then Ru Luen, founder of CarePass and director of Alpro Health, wants to encourage Malaysians to act earlier in managing their health. Early detection and regular monitoring are key to controlling chronic conditions like diabetes, which affects one in five Malaysian adults.

Healthcare costs in Malaysia have been rising. In 2022, out-of-pocket expenses made up 37% of total healthcare spending. Many avoid treatment due to financial constraints, with 12.9% skipping medical care in 2023. CarePass aims to cut the cumulative cost of preventive care by up to 80%. The pass is now available at Alpro Pharmacy locations across the country. It offers a cost-effective way for Malaysians to access essential health services. The initiative seeks to reduce financial barriers to proactive health management.
