Madhya Pradesh Governor launches new blood bank and health initiatives in Khargone

Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel has inaugurated a new blood bank in Jhirniya, Khargone. He also addressed health initiatives during the event, focusing on sickle cell disease and tuberculosis. His visit included the distribution of aid and recognition to local patients. Governor Patel opened the blood bank and highlighted efforts to combat sickle cell disease. He praised the Sickle Cell Mitra initiative for its support to patients. Digital cards were issued to all affected individuals in the area to streamline care.

He presented sickle cell certificates to Ranjana and Sanjana during the ceremony. The Governor also noted that the disease can be tested and treated during pregnancy. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to eliminate sickle cell disease in India by 2047.

Addressing tuberculosis, Patel stated that regular six-month medication can cure the condition. He donated two new ambulances and a hearse to the Health Department to improve services. Food baskets were given to tuberculosis patients Thavali Bai and Billor.

The Governor also spoke about progress in tribal regions. He emphasised advancements under the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana and the Dharti Aba Village Development Scheme. The inauguration of the blood bank marks a step forward for local healthcare. The Governor’s contributions and initiatives aim to strengthen medical support and disease prevention. These measures are expected to benefit patients and improve health services in the region.
