Magadan boosts 2026 healthcare budget to improve Kolyma's medical services

The Magadan Regional Duma has approved a law to increase the 2026 budget for the Magadan Regional Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund. The changes aim to improve medical care and support the well-being of Kolyma’s residents. The adjustments address both revenue and expenditure to stabilise financing for healthcare services. Under the new law, the Fund’s revenue has risen by 21.5 million rubles, bringing the total to 11.3 billion rubles. Expenditures have also grown by 544 million rubles, reaching 11.8 billion rubles in total.

The law increases the Fund’s normalised insurance reserve by 59.2 million rubles. This boost makes the budget more secure and easier to manage. The additional revenue will provide more stable financing for medical institutions across the region.

The 2026 budget still projects a deficit of 522.6 million rubles. This shortfall will be covered using unused funds carried over from 2025. The extra resources will also expand access to diagnostics and ensure prompt treatment coverage for residents receiving care outside the region. The budget changes are designed to enhance the quality of medical services for Kolyma’s population. The increased insurance reserve and additional funding will help secure stable operations for healthcare providers. The adjustments ensure that financial gaps are addressed without disrupting services.
