Northern Lights Sanatorium Reopens After Major Modernization in 2026

The Northern Lights sanatorium in the Republic of Komi has reopened its doors after extensive modernisation. The facility now offers improved accessibility and upgraded amenities for its health recovery programs. It began welcoming guests on March 3, 2026. The modernisation was ordered by Rostislav Goldstein, head of the Republic of Komi. Upgrades included room renovations, new furniture, and resurfacing the pool area. The dining system was also expanded to a buffet-style service.

Accessibility improvements were a key focus. Ramps, handrails, widened doorways, and specialised bathrooms were installed to assist visitors with mobility needs.

The sanatorium hosts a branch of the Seregovo sanatorium. In 2026, it has provided health programs to 122 people. These include residents of the Republic of Komi, participants in the special military operation, and their families.

Five individuals from Kherson Oblast have completed health programs at the facility. Additionally, 34 participants in the special military operation and their family members received treatment. The Mother and Child and Mother and Two Children programs each hosted 40 participants. The Northern Lights sanatorium has enhanced its capacity to support health recovery. The upgrades and expanded services aim to accommodate a broader range of visitors. The facility continues to serve its target groups with improved infrastructure and accessibility.
