Moscow Hospital Launches New Admissions Unit with Green Zone Trial

City Clinical Hospital No. 40 has launched a new admissions and diagnostic department with a dedicated green zone. The unit opened at 8:00 AM on May 18, marking a significant change in how patients access care at the facility. The green zone will initially operate in trial mode for the first month. It will run from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily, serving patients who arrive on their own or are referred by polyclinics. During this period, staff will focus on refining workflows, logistics, and coordination between departments.

Medical personnel have received specialised training to triage patients effectively based on the severity of their condition. The main entrance to the new department is situated closer to Volgogradskaya Street. Patients with limited mobility can also access the facility by car via Akademika Bardin Street or Volgogradskaya Street through the hospital’s checkpoint.

The hospital’s previous admissions department will remain open around the clock to ensure uninterrupted service. The new admissions unit aims to streamline patient intake and improve service efficiency. The trial phase will help staff adjust processes before full implementation. Accessibility for all patients, including those with mobility challenges, has been prioritised in the design.
