Drink Purple recall issued over alcohol, glass and fermentation risks
A recall has been issued for certain batches of the immune-support supplement Drink Purple. The affected products pose a risk of illness or injury due to excess alcohol, carbonation, and potential glass fragments. Consumers are urged to check their purchases immediately. The recall covers 60ml and 350ml bottles of Drink Purple from batch number 23716 with an expiry date of May 30, 2027. These were sold in health food stores across NSW and Queensland, as well as online. The manufacturer, Mama Nayture Pty Ltd, identified unintended fermentation as the cause, which may make the product taste sour or appear fizzy.
The company also recalled two other supplements recently: Nature's Own Glucosamine Sulfate with Chondroitin and Nature's Own Magnesium Glycinate. These were pulled due to the risk of glass fragments causing cuts or harm if swallowed. Consumers are advised not to drink or open any affected products and to dispose of them safely. The recall affects specific batches of Drink Purple and other supplements. The risk of injury or illness comes from both chemical changes and potential glass contamination. Shoppers should return or safely discard the affected items to avoid harm.
