Biysk's Emergency Medical System Becomes a National Model for Russia

Biysk’s emergency medical service has drawn national attention for its innovative approach. A delegation from Stavropol Krai visited the city in summer 2025 to study its dispatch system. Experts from Russia’s National Medical Research Center also evaluated the service during a recent trip. In summer 2025, representatives from Stavropol Krai travelled to Biysk to examine its emergency dispatch methods. They provided methodological support and helped refine coordination mechanisms during their stay. Stavropol later launched its own upgraded emergency and urgent care system, modelled on Biysk’s practices.

Alexander Raevsky, a methodologist, commended Biysk’s centralised approach to emergency care. He plans to analyse the model in detail and propose its adoption in other Russian regions. Alexei Karnaukhov, chief physician of the Biysk Emergency Medical Station, welcomed the feedback from the National Medical Research Center team.

The Biysk station now aims to expand its system further. It will integrate the city’s children’s polyclinic into its unified dispatch network to enhance public access to emergency care. Biysk’s emergency medical service continues to serve as a benchmark for other regions. Delegations from across Russia are expected to visit and study its methods. The integration of the children’s polyclinic will mark the next step in improving local emergency care.
