Talaya Health Resort Reopens After a 6 Billion Ruble Transformation

The Talaya health resort officially reopened on 12 June 2023 after a major renovation. Once a modest sanatorium, it has now become a modern balneological resort. Local officials and investors gathered to mark the occasion. The transformation of Talaya was driven by a public-private partnership and the work of Kolyma’s development team. Investor Alexander Basanasky allocated over 6 billion rubles to the project, with 1 billion rubles spent on medical equipment alone.

The resort now includes four accommodation buildings with a total capacity of 320 guests. A dedicated children’s wing provides 85 beds. New facilities feature an open-air thermal pool, a year-round ice rink, a tennis court, and an agricultural complex.

At the reopening ceremony, Sergei Smirnov, Chairman of the Magadan City Duma, stressed the importance of the resort for local residents. Governor Sergei Nosov also underscored its social value for the region. Petr Burmistrov, First Deputy Chairman, noted the resort’s positive impact on public health in Magadan. The renewed Talaya resort offers expanded facilities and advanced medical equipment. Its revival is expected to benefit both the health and well-being of local residents. The project stands as a key development for the Magadan region.
