A woman allegedly tried to urinate in a first-class compartment of a regional train from Karlsruhe to Stuttgart before attacking a conductor who intervened. According to police, the conductor attempted to stop the suspect from relieving herself in the carriage, at which point the woman reportedly pulled her hair and tried to bite her.
Passengers separated the two, and officers later detained the 37-year-old suspect at Vaihingen/Enz station, taking her to a hospital. A police spokesperson stated she appeared to be in a severe psychological distress. Authorities confirmed that the regional train's toilet was out of order.
The 53-year-old conductor suffered headaches after the Monday incident and was unable to continue working. Federal police are investigating the case on suspicion of assault.
