Waterdrop's Electrolyte Cubes Win Official Sports Nutrition Certification
A new range of electrolyte drink cubes has gained official recognition for sports nutrition. Waterdrop Microlyte RECHARGE, developed by Austrian company Waterdrop microdrink GmbH, received certification on January 15, 2026. The product aims to support hydration for active lifestyles, with three flavours now listed on the Kölner Liste for clean sports nutrition.
The drink cubes dissolve fully in water, leaving no residue behind. Each cube contains four essential electrolytes, zinc, and six vitamins, all without added sugar. The latest flavours—Strawberry, Lemon-Mint, and Grapefruit—have been well received across the EU since their launch.
Henry Murray, CMCO and co-founder of waterdrop®, has highlighted the role of proper hydration in physical performance. With many people looking to increase their activity after the holidays, the product offers a convenient way to maintain fluid balance. Customer feedback from January 2026 notes its effectiveness for hydration during sports, though no market share data is available yet.
The certification marks a step into the sports nutrition sector for Waterdrop microdrink GmbH. The sugar-free cubes provide electrolytes and vitamins for those boosting their activity levels. The company continues to expand its range, focusing on hydration solutions for everyday use.
