Verona Park Walk Raises Over $1M for The Valerie Fund's 50th Anniversary

Over 1,000 people gathered in Verona Park, New Jersey, for The Valerie Fund’s annual walk and 5K run. The event marked the charity’s 50th anniversary and raised more than $1 million for children needing medical care close to home. The Valerie Fund has supported children with cancer and blood disorders since 1976. This year’s event drew 132 teams, many including former patients who once relied on the organisation’s help.

Long-time emcees Vanessa Murdock and John Elliott hosted the event for over a decade. Participants walked and ran to honour the charity’s half-century of service. By the end of the day, donations exceeded the $1 million target, reaching $1,007,500.

Funds raised will help children receive treatment near their homes. The Valerie Fund continues to provide care after 50 years of service. Donations can still be made at thevaleriefund.org/donate.
