The qualifying rounds of the "Best Emergency Response Team" contest have begun in Biysk, as announced by the medical organization on social media.
For the sixth year running, medical professionals are showcasing their expertise. Originally an internal competition, it has expanded over the past three years to include teams from across districts. Now, in the final round, crews from the entire Biysk Medical District will compete for the winner's cup.
"The primary goal of this competition is to enhance the professional skills, knowledge, and abilities of paramedics and nurses," said Alexey Karnaukhov, chief physician of Biysk's emergency medical station. "It also adds variety to their work and strengthens team cohesion."
Ahead of the final, employees from the Priobskaya substation battled for a spot in the decisive stage. Three teams—two of which had never worked together before—demonstrated their skills. Three more qualifying trials lie ahead.
"When teams face these challenges, it's like responding to a real emergency," explained Maksim Maksimin, chief paramedic of the emergency medical service. "We present them with real-life scenarios—everything our crews encounter daily."
Two paramedics, Viktoria Smirnova and Dmitry Fefelov, unexpectedly advanced to the final. During a break between calls, they discussed the competition tasks and decided to test their abilities.
The final will take place in June, coinciding with Medical Workers' Day celebrations. We will continue covering the qualifying rounds.
