According to authorities, a 28-year-old man from Rain is the prime suspect. The case has now been referred to the Augsburg Public Prosecutor's Office, with investigators probing 38 counts of grievous bodily harm, a police spokesperson confirmed.
The attack occurred on the Sunday evening following the local Carnival procession, when tear gas was sprayed inside the establishment. Victims reported respiratory irritation, vomiting, and eye irritation. Police have stated there is no evidence of long-term health consequences.
