Support Group Helps 'Star Mothers' Navigate Grief in Relationships

A support group for mothers who have lost a child is holding its next meeting on Thursday, June 11, at 6:00 PM. The session, titled Partnership After Loss, will explore how couples cope with grief in different ways and support one another through the experience. Organisers have asked those interested to register beforehand to secure a place. The meeting will take place at the Lünen Health Center on Roggenmarkt 18–20. Participants should head to the group room on the top floor, accessible via the side entrance. Dipl.-Psych. Ina Fornefeld, a counsellor from the Lünen Marriage, Family, and Life Counseling Center, will lead the discussion.

The group, named *Traces in the Heart – Living with a Star Child*, specifically supports so-called *star mothers*—women who have experienced the loss of a child. Regular gatherings occur every second Thursday of the month at the same time and location. This session will focus on how grief affects relationships and how partners can live with loss together. The aim is to provide a space for shared understanding and mutual support among attendees.

The event offers a structured environment for mothers navigating grief within their partnerships. Those wishing to attend must confirm their participation in advance. Further details can be obtained by contacting the Lünen Health Center directly.
