Stryker Unveils Synchfix EVT: A Revolutionary Ankle Brace for Faster Recovery
Stryker has launched Synchfix EVT, a next-generation device for ankle syndesmotic injuries. The system aims to simplify surgical procedures while improving patient stability. It will be presented at the 2026 ACFAS Annual Meeting.
Synchfix EVT entered the market in 2024 as an all-in-one solution for soft tissue and bone fixation. The sterile, single-use system features knotless, flexible 'ankle brace' technology. Its design includes integrated suture tensioning handles and a one-handed deployment mechanism.
The device is the first flexible fixation option approved for adolescents with syndesmotic disruptions. Early clinical data from the EVOLVE study, which began in 2024, shows positive short-term results. No device-related complications were reported in initial cases at German and US medical centres.
Compared to earlier models, Synchfix EVT reduces procedural complexity. It supports ankle stabilisation in patients with syndesmotic injuries, with or without fractures. Stryker, a leader in medical technologies, develops products across MedSurg, Neurotechnology, and Orthopaedics to enhance healthcare outcomes.
Synchfix EVT will be demonstrated at the 2026 ACFAS conference. The device's flexible, knotless 'ankle brace' design and simplified deployment aim to benefit both surgeons and patients. Early clinical findings suggest it may improve recovery for ankle syndesmotic injuries.
