Solingen's Free Health Day Offers Workshops, Massages and Wellness Tips

A Health Day is coming to Solingen later this month. The Glass Workshop will host the free event on Thursday, June 27, from 16:00 to 20:00. Visitors can explore workshops, talks, and wellness activities at Hauptstr. 61-63 in the city centre. The afternoon begins with a talk on nutrition at 16:30. Sabine Naarmann-Kirschbaun, a nutrition consultant, will discuss fibre-rich eating and healthy diets for those over 55. Her session, titled Ballaststoffe sind kein Ballast, focuses on low-calorie, nutrient-dense meals.

At 17:00 and 17:30, the cooking station offers hands-on workshops with food samples. Participants can taste and learn about balanced meal preparation. Meanwhile, AWO-Seniorenarbeit will run creative memory exercises and gentle movement sessions for older adults. Later, at 18:30, Nicole Heiermann leads a workshop on the Alexander Technique. This method teaches posture and movement awareness to reduce strain. An hour later, Solinger Sportbildungswerk presents corporate health tools, including BIA scans, Cardio Scans, and Kinetic assessments. Throughout the evening, Natalia Amvrosiadis provides office massages for 1€ per minute. Nastasja Kobe introduces Libento Tagespflege Lochbachtal, explaining day care options for seniors. Solinger Klinikum also showcases its mobile studio, Studiowelle 2, designed to aid patient recovery.

The Health Day brings together experts in nutrition, fitness, and senior care. Attendees can try massages, cooking demos, and health checks—all in one location. The event aims to offer practical tips for better wellbeing in a relaxed setting.
