Russian court fines seller 400,000 rubles for unmarked nicotine products

A 35-year-old resident of Arsenyev has been found guilty of illegally storing and selling unmarked nicotine products. The Dalgorensk District Court delivered the verdict after investigating large-scale violations of Russian labelling laws. The case involved nicotine delivery systems and flavoured mixtures lacking proper identification markers. The defendant was convicted under Part 6(b) of Article 171.1 of the Russian Criminal Code. Authorities discovered a significant stockpile of nicotine products in Dalgorensk, all missing legally required markings. The total value of the confiscated goods exceeded 2 million rubles.

The court imposed a fine of 400,000 rubles on the defendant. Once the verdict takes legal effect, the unmarked products will be destroyed. However, the ruling remains subject to appeal and has not yet entered into force.

Local reports highlight concerns about rising nicotine use among young people in the Primorsky Territory. Children as young as 8 and 10 have been recorded trying nicotine for the first time. The case draws attention to the enforcement of labelling laws for nicotine products in the region. If upheld, the fine and destruction of goods will mark the end of the legal process. The verdict also reflects broader efforts to curb illegal nicotine trafficking in the area.
