Disruption of drinking water supply in Rohrbach - Rohrbach's water crisis forces residents to boil tap water until Saturday
Rohrbach has faced drinking water shortages since Saturday after faulty pumps disrupted the tractor supply. Repairs are underway, but residents must boil tap water before use. Officials expect full service to return by midnight on February 1, 2026.
The issue began when pumps at the local well facility failed over the weekend. Since then, the village's water supply has been unreliable. While repairs are progressing, mounting work should finish by around 8 PM tonight. After that, crews will flush the lines and refill the reservoir.
Until then, residents have been advised to boil all tap water before drinking, cooking, or preparing food. The available water has been chlorinated, which may alter its taste. For those needing non-potable water, supplies are being distributed at the village community centre.
Authorities have confirmed that full restoration of the drinking water supply is expected by midnight on February 1, 2026.
The disruption has left Rohrbach relying on boiled or distributed water for now. Once repairs and flushing are complete, the system should return to normal operation. Residents will no longer need to boil water after the reservoir is fully refilled and tested.
