Regional Medical Center CEO Danette Kramer to retire after 30 years of leadership

Danette Kramer, Chief Executive Officer of Regional Medical Center (RMC), has announced her retirement at the end of 2026. She will step down after three decades of service, having shaped the organisation in key leadership roles since 1996. The Governing Board of Trustees will soon begin the search for her replacement. Kramer first joined RMC in 1996, starting a long career that included multiple leadership positions. From 1999 to 2000, she worked as Business Manager before becoming Chief Financial Officer—a role she held for 21 years, until 2021. That year, she took on the position of Chief Executive Officer, overseeing the hospital's operations and growth.

Throughout her tenure, Kramer played a vital part in contract negotiations, staff recruitment, and service development. She also led facilities planning, ensured regulatory compliance, and conducted strategic and financial analysis. Her contributions have been central to the hospital's stability and expansion over the years. To allow for a seamless transition, Kramer will remain in her role until December 31st. The RMC Governing Board of Trustees plans to launch a formal search for her successor in the coming weeks. Cathy Lilienthal, Chairman of the Governing Board, acknowledged Kramer's 30 years of dedication. She highlighted the lasting impact Kramer has had on the organisation during her time in leadership.

Kramer's departure marks the end of an era for Regional Medical Center. Her leadership has spanned financial, operational, and strategic areas, leaving a strong foundation for the next CEO. The board will now focus on finding a successor to continue her work from 2027 onward.
