Pampanga governor honors surgeons at Philippine College convention in Clark
Governor Lilia 'Nanay' Pineda spoke at the 52nd Philippine College of Surgeons Midyear Convention in Clark Freeport. She praised surgeons and healthcare workers for their role in improving public health and patient care. The event, held at the SMX Convention Center, focused on precision care and leadership in surgery.
The convention carried the theme Precision Care in Surgery by Cultivating Leadership and Competence. Governor Pineda emphasised that precision care means preventing suffering, upholding dignity, and offering hope through compassionate service. She also highlighted the Alagang Nanay Preventive Health Care Program, which promotes early diagnosis, disease prevention, and accessible treatments.
Among the attendees were former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, now Pampanga’s 2nd District Congresswoman, along with Board Member Kaye Naguit and medical professionals. Pineda took the opportunity to thank healthcare workers for their dedication and sacrifices in delivering quality care. She also noted the opening of the Pampanga Provincial Hospital-Clark, the first government hospital inside a freeport. This facility marks an expansion of healthcare services in the region.
The governor’s remarks underscored the critical role of surgeons and medical staff in advancing public health. Their efforts, combined with new healthcare initiatives, aim to enhance patient welfare and access to medical services in Pampanga.
