A new dietary supplement called Dakhar has been developed by Russian researchers to target early signs of ageing. Scientists from Perm Polytechnic University and Perm Pharmaceutical Academy created the product, which is now available on the market. Tests suggest it may improve cognitive function and muscle strength in middle-aged adults.

The supplement was tested in preclinical trials using rats equivalent in age to humans between 55 and 60. Results showed a noticeable improvement in both brain performance and physical strength. Unlike general stimulants, Dakhar only produced effects in the middle-aged group, indicating a specific focus on early-stage ageing.

Dakhar combines two key ingredients: an aqueous extract from peach leaves and DMAE (dimethylaminoethanol). This blend is designed to support brain function while providing antioxidant protection to cells. The product is classified as a specialised food rather than a pharmaceutical drug, meaning it does not require medical approval for sale. Researchers have not yet released details on the manufacturer or wider distribution plans. So far, the supplement remains a niche offering, with limited public information available outside of the trial findings.

Dakhar is now on sale as a food supplement aimed at middle-aged consumers. The trials suggest it could help with cognitive and physical decline linked to early ageing. However, further independent research may be needed to confirm its long-term effects and safety.
