New Allergen ImmunoBars Help Parents Tackle Rising Childhood Food Allergies
A Texas-based startup is tackling the growing issue of childhood food allergies with a new snack. GrowHappy has launched Allergen ImmunoBars, designed to help parents introduce and maintain key allergens in their children’s diets. The company was co-founded by Stephanie Wibom, a mother of three, alongside a team of paediatric allergists and gut health specialists. Food allergies in the U.S. have risen sharply, with up to one in three children now developing eczema—a known risk factor. Early and consistent exposure to allergens is recommended, but many families struggle to keep it up as children grow. Stephanie Wibom faced this challenge herself, finding it difficult to regularly feed allergens to her daughters due to a lack of convenient options.
The Allergen ImmunoBars aim to solve this problem. Each bar contains key allergens like peanut, sesame, and mixed tree nuts, without added sugar, salt, or ultra-processed ingredients. They come in three flavours: Peanut Butter, Blueberries & Oats; Mixed Tree Nut Butters, Strawberries & Oats; and Sesame Butter, Banana & Oats. GrowHappy chose Texas as its base, a state known for its entrepreneurial spirit and strong fundraising culture. The bars are designed for children aged 12 months and older, offering a simple way to keep allergens in their diet—whether at home or on the move.
The launch provides parents with a practical tool for managing allergen exposure. The bars are now available to help families maintain consistency as their children’s routines change. GrowHappy’s solution comes at a time when childhood allergies continue to climb across the country.
