Move4Heroes Campaign Raises Funds for Child Cancer Patients This Pentecost
Under the slogan "Get Moving—and Make a Difference for Children with Cancer!", the charity campaign "Move4Heroes" will take place for the fourth time over Pentecost weekend. As announced by the Parents' Association for Children with Cancer Mainz (Elternverein Krebskranke Kinder Mainz e.V.), residents of Mainz and the surrounding area are invited from May 23 to 25, 2026, to get active and log kilometers for a good cause.
The concept is simple: every kilometer covered will be converted into a donation. Participants can choose any sport they like—whether swimming, jogging, dancing, hiking, or horseback riding—every form of movement counts. People can take part solo or team up with family, friends, or colleagues.
All proceeds from the event will support the work of the Parents' Association, which has been funding projects for children with cancer and their families since 1984 and relies entirely on donations.
New This Year: Kickoff Event and Registration
This year brings an exciting addition: on Pentecost Saturday (May 23), a kickoff event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enthusiastic participants can sign up in person at the Parents' Association's booth on the Malakoff Terraces, near the Hyatt Regency Mainz, and start moving right away.
Registration is also available online outside the event. After signing up, participants will receive their race number and further details. All adult registrants will automatically enter a raffle, with prizes generously donated by the Hyatt Regency Mainz.
