Leyte police launch free circumcision drive with legal awareness campaign
Regional Mobile Force Battalion 8 (RMFB 8) recently organised a free circumcision drive for young individuals in Leyte. The event, named Circum-Mission: Oplan Tuli, took place on May 9, 2026, and saw participation from 59 youths. Alongside the medical service, officials also led an information campaign on key laws protecting women and children. The initiative was praised by Lieutenant Colonel Dionesio Maestre Jr., the acting force commander. He described the drive as a clear demonstration of RMFB 8’s commitment to public service. The event also included briefings for parents and guardians on Republic Act 11313, known as the Safe Spaces Act, and Republic Act 9262, the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act.
RMFB 8 extended its gratitude to the medical teams and partner organisations involved. Personnel from various healthcare groups collaborated to ensure the success of the circumcision drive. Their expertise and support were acknowledged as vital to the programme’s smooth execution. PNP chief General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. commended the efforts of Leyte police personnel. He reiterated the Philippine National Police’s dedication to programmes that improve the welfare of young people in the region.
The free circumcision drive provided essential medical services to 59 participants. At the same time, the information sessions raised awareness about legal protections for women and children. RMFB 8’s initiative highlighted ongoing efforts to combine healthcare and community education in Leyte.
