Dr Mahak Bhandari has made medical history by performing India’s first successful tele-robotic hernia surgery. The groundbreaking procedure took place at the IRCAD India Centre, where he operated remotely from a moving bus. His expertise in robotic and minimally invasive techniques has earned him widespread recognition in the field of modern surgery. Dr Bhandari is a specialist in robotic, laparoscopic, and bariatric metabolic surgeries. He has carried out numerous successful operations across hospitals in Indore and Ratlam. His academic background includes degrees from MGM Medical College in Indore and DY Patil Medical College in Mumbai.

Recently, he was awarded a PhD in Surgery by Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University. His doctoral research focused on comparing two advanced weight-loss procedures: One Anastomosis Gastric Bypass (OAGB) and Banded One Anastomosis Gastric Bypass (BOAGB) with a fixed biliopancreatic limb of 180 cm. Currently, Dr Bhandari serves as Managing Director of Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences. His innovative approach to surgery has drawn praise from Chancellor Dr Manjusree Bhandari and Founder Chairman Dr Vinod Bhandari, who highlighted his dedication and forward-thinking vision.
