Haleon recalls Gas-X Softgels over potential chemical contamination risks
Haleon has issued a voluntary recall for certain batches of Gas-X Extra Strength Softgels. The move comes after potential chemical contamination was detected in four specific lots of the 125 mg capsules. Customers are being advised to stop using the affected products immediately.
The recall involves 120-count and 72-count bottles of Gas-X Extra Strength Softgels. The affected lots carry the numbers TL8K, YH9X, YH9Y, and X78N, all with an expiration date of November 30, 2028. These capsules were distributed around April 13.
The contamination occurred due to a machine leakage during the packaging process. While no adverse health effects have been reported so far, ingesting the contaminated capsules could lead to nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhoea. Haleon has since identified and fixed the source of the issue, putting measures in place to prevent future occurrences. The company is now contacting distributors and customers to arrange returns and reimbursements. Affected consumers are urged to reach out to Haleon directly for instructions on how to proceed with the recall.
Haleon has confirmed that no incidents related to this recall have been reported. Customers holding the recalled products should discontinue use and follow the return process. The company remains focused on ensuring product safety and preventing further contamination risks.
