A helipad at Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) has marked a major milestone after recording over 3 The HELP Appeal originally contributed £700,000 toward the construction of the Glasgow helipad. More recently, it provided an additional £180,000 for a new high-friction surface, improving safety for landings. Since its opening, the helipad has handled 3,030 landings, ensuring rapid access to emergency care.

Across Britain, the charity has funded 55 hospital helipads, supporting a total of 34,500 landings. In Scotland alone, 21 helipads have received funding, accounting for 7,017 landings. The HELP Appeal operates without government or National Lottery funding, relying entirely on voluntary donations. The Glasgow helipad remains a key asset for emergency medical transfers. Its high usage reflects the growing demand for air ambulance services in the region.
