A fire broke out at the Chiemgau-Klinik in Marquartstein, Upper Bavaria, destroying the wellness and sauna areas. The blaze caused substantial damage but resulted in no injuries. Patients were briefly evacuated as a precaution while emergency crews contained the flames.

The fire started on February 17, 2026, spreading rapidly through the clinic's sauna and wellness section. Local firefighters arrived quickly, stopping the blaze from reaching other parts of the building. Patients were moved to a nearby gymnasium during the operation. Once the situation was under control, they were allowed to return to their rooms. Investigators from the Kriminalpolizei Traunstein have begun examining the cause, though early findings suggest no signs of arson.

No updates on reconstruction plans have been announced, as the incident occurred only a day ago.

The clinic now faces significant repairs to its wellness facilities. Authorities continue to probe the fire's origin, with no further details expected until the investigation concludes. For now, operations at the Chiemgau-Klinik remain unaffected beyond the damaged areas.
