Family sues over boy's fatal carbon monoxide poisoning in Regina apartment

The family of 11-year-old Henry Losco, who died from carbon monoxide poisoning in Regina, is suing four companies over alleged safety failures. The lawsuit claims multiple errors led to the boy’s death just one day after new boilers were installed in his apartment building.

Henry Losco passed away after a resident’s personal carbon monoxide alarm detected dangerous gas levels. The building was later declared uninhabitable following the incident.

The family’s legal action targets Anderson Builders Group 1989 Inc., accused of improper boiler installation. Ariston Canada Inc. faces allegations of designing unsafe boilers and failing to issue timely safety warnings. Skyward Living Properties Inc., the property manager, is blamed for not protecting residents. Anderson Holdings, the building’s owner, is accused of removing functional carbon monoxide detectors and neglecting staff training. Marina Hills and Sergio Losco, Henry’s parents, are seeking unspecified damages. Their claim covers Henry’s pain and suffering, funeral costs, and lost future income.

The lawsuit highlights multiple safety lapses, from faulty equipment to disabled alarms. If successful, the case could result in financial compensation for Henry’s family and hold the companies accountable for the tragedy.
