Dorndorf youth find renewal in faith at 'SPIRIT NOW' service
On March 20, 135 young people attended the 'SPIRIT NOW' youth service at Dorndorf Evangelical Church. The event centred on the theme 'I am making everything new' and included music, reflection, and an interactive bonfire activity. Organisers Katrin Mang and Nadja Ramisch guided discussions on what a fresh start in faith truly means.
The service began with performances by the youth band Tehillah and newly trained leaders playing homemade cajón drums. These young leaders had recently earned their KinderLeiterCard (KiLeiCa), presented by Susann Heiderich.
Pastor Martin Weber delivered a sermon on new beginnings, noting that a fresh start does not erase the past. Instead, he emphasised God's promise to walk with people through life's highs and lows. As a keepsake, each attendee received an eraser engraved with *'I am making everything new'*. One of the most striking moments came when participants wrote down personal worries and burned them in a bonfire. The symbolic act allowed them to release burdens and embrace the event's theme. The next *'SPIRIT NOW'* service is already planned for September 25, 2026, at Bad Salzungen Town Church.
The March gathering brought together young people for worship, reflection, and community. Through music, discussion, and symbolic rituals, attendees explored the idea of renewal in faith. The event also marked the certification of new youth leaders, ensuring continued engagement in future services.
