Brightseed and Haleon Partner to Unlock AI-Driven Plant-Based Health Discoveries
Brightseed, a biotech firm specialising in AI-driven plant research, has teamed up with consumer health leader Haleon. The partnership aims to speed up the discovery of plant-based molecules with potential health benefits. Brightseed’s technology already powers its own products, including a bioactive fibre now available to consumers. Brightseed uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to analyse plant compounds. Its Forager platform predicts health benefits and identifies the best ways to source these molecules. The company’s database links thousands of plant-based compounds to biological targets, helping partners explore new opportunities.
Under the new deal, Haleon’s team will access Forager directly. This will allow them to discover novel bioactives, study existing product compositions, and assess market potential. Brightseed is also improving its platform with generative AI tools, making it easier for third parties to interact using natural language. The company operates on a dual model: developing its own bioactives while collaborating with global partners. Its first commercial product, a fibre derived from upcycled hemp hulls, is already on shelves. A second product, a purified form of NCT and NFT, will soon be produced via microbial fermentation for broader use. Partners pay upfront fees and subscriptions to use the Forager platform, supporting ongoing research and development.
The collaboration with Haleon expands Brightseed’s reach in the consumer health sector. By combining AI-driven insights with industry expertise, the partnership could lead to new plant-based health solutions. Brightseed’s technology continues to enable both in-house innovation and external research through accessible tools.
