Bohana's Water Lily Seed Snack Steals the Spotlight on Shark Tank
A new snack called Bohana is making waves in the food world. Made from popped water lily seeds, it offers a crunchy, salty alternative to traditional popcorn. Founder Nadine recently pitched her business on Shark Tank, hoping to secure investment for the growing brand. Nadine entered the Shark Tank asking for $200,000 in return for 10% of her company. She highlighted Bohana’s appeal as a gluten-free, non-GMO, and vegan snack with no added sugar or preservatives. The product comes in four flavours: original, Himalayan pink salt, black pepper, and rosemary sea salt.
The sharks took interest in the healthy snack’s potential. Barbara made the first offer, proposing $200,000 for 30% equity. Later, Kevin countered with a different deal—a $200,000 loan at 8% interest for just 8% equity. Bohana’s versatility was another selling point. Like popcorn, it can be eaten plain, seasoned, or even used as a garnish in meals. Nadine emphasised its satisfying crunch and broad appeal to health-conscious consumers.
Nadine left the tank with two competing offers on the table. Bohana’s unique take on a classic snack has already attracted attention for its taste and nutritional benefits. The outcome of her deal could help push the brand further into the mainstream snack market.
