Belarus bans high-dose Russian supplements over safety violations

Belarus has prohibited the import and sale of various Russian-made dietary supplements due to safety concerns. The country's Health Ministry discovered that these products exceeded legal dosage limits for vitamins and minerals. Many of the supplements were being sold online without proper prescriptions.

The banned supplements originate from five manufacturers: Biofarm LLC, Zhiva Produkt Pro LLC, Global HealthCare LLC, Supplement Group LLC, and WinLab Nutrition LLC. Authorities found that the products contained doses higher than those permitted by the Eurasian Economic Union's regulations.

Despite their therapeutic strength, the supplements were available on popular online platforms like Wildberries and Ozon. Consumers could purchase them freely, even though such high-potency products typically require medical oversight.

The Belarusian Health Ministry did not impose wider restrictions on the Russian manufacturers themselves. No evidence suggests broader violations beyond the specific supplements listed in the ban.

The ban removes these high-dose supplements from the Belarusian market. Online sales of the products will no longer be allowed without proper authorisation. Regulators have not announced further action against the manufacturers at this time.
