Bangladesh Medical University unites for Eid Reunion 2026 while keeping hospitals running
Bangladesh Medical University celebrated Eid Reunion 2026 on Tuesday with a series of events. The programme included a large gathering at Shaheed Dr Milon Hall, where university leaders met staff, students, and healthcare workers. Essential medical services remained fully operational throughout the holidays. The celebrations began on March 21 with an Eid congregation at the university's central mosque. Later, the main event took place at Shaheed Dr Milon Hall, featuring separate sessions for different groups. Acting vice-chancellor Professor Md Abul Kalam Azad, along with pro-vice-chancellors, the treasurer, registrar, proctor, and other senior officials, attended the occasion.
During the Eid holidays, the university ensured uninterrupted healthcare. Around 500 medical personnel worked in outpatient departments, treating 944 patients on March 19 and March 22. Diagnostic services, such as laboratory tests, X-rays, and CT scans, stayed open. Emergency and ward care also continued without disruption, with the same number of staff on duty as usual.
Special meals were prepared for patients on Eid day, adding to the festive atmosphere. The university's Eid Reunion 2026 combined community gatherings with ongoing medical support. Patients received treatment and meals, while staff maintained full services across all departments. The event highlighted both celebration and the institution's commitment to healthcare continuity.
